Keritizin was an ancient sport, dating around 540 B.C., which was played with curved sticks, with edges in the shapes of horns and a ball. It was probably a precursor of hockey. We created a relief plaque, inspired by the ancient greek relief with two "teenage keritizontes", that was found in the Themistoclean Wall in Athens. The plaque is made of brass with patina and placed on a greek black marble base, with white and grey waters.

Keritizin was a game with ball, where the players tried to draw towards them the ball, with curved sticks. This sport that was played in antiquity, probably was a precursor of the current hockey and all sports that are played with the same object. The stick with the curved edge, that was used in the game was called keras. According to ancient represenations that have been found, the ancient Greeks were playing this team sport, using these sticks in the shape of horns and a circular object as a ball.
It is not known exactly who and when started this sport, nor the regulations, but performances that have been found in various vessels date back to 540 B.C.. Many variations of the game meet in various parts of Europe during the middle ages.
In the relief, there are two players, holding a rod with curved edge and they try to draw towards them , the ball that lies between them. The original relief base from a tomb monument with the "teenage keritizontes" is kept in the National Archaeological Museum in Athens.
